Gabriel Frank, owner of Gardens by Gabriel, undertook a renovation of our front lawn at our San Luis Obispo residence in May 2008. For conservation of water, reduced maintenance, and appropriateness to the mediterranean climate of the area, we wished to replace a lawn with colorful drought tolerant plantings.

Gardens by Gabriel is a collective of craftsmen, artists, and designers headed by owner and operator, Gabriel Frank. GBG, license # 887028, is a fully bonded and insured company.
Our main crew is composed of 3 individuals: Daniel Myers, Mindy Renee, and myself, Gabriel Frank, graduate of NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN SCHOOL OF PROFESSIONAL HORTICULTURE. Keeping a small core crew allows us to focus on detail and quality, at every stage in the garden. When creating a more complex landscape, no matter the size, we incorporate into our team specialists in fine carpentry, concrete work, and masonry.
Alone or with an expanded crew, we excel at creating distinctive landscapes. Our work has recently won an Obispo Beautiful award, and multiple gardens have been featured in the San Luis Tribune. (Please visit our PRESS page for more information.)
Though we are based in Morro Bay, we like to think that our office is your garden. We are as comfortable working on our rural projects in Big Sur and Corrizo Plains as we are in your local neighborhood. Proud to live and work on the central coast, we enjoy creating unique outdoor spaces that celebrate its beauty and diversity. To strengthen our central coast economy, we source materials from local plant growers, quarries, landscape suppliers, and artisans.
